Must-see sights of Rome

3 minutes: Colosseum

The largest amphitheater in the world and a testimony to the architectural masterminds of Ancient Rome. Meander through its labyrinths and relive the high-adrenaline thrill of the gladiator fights.

10 minutes: Piazza Venezia

The giant “wedding cake” wonders of the Vittoriano dominate this square where history continues to be made. Its charms range from the ancient palace that gives it its name, once the embassy of Serenissima Republic of Venice, to the broad staircase leading up to the Campidoglio.

15 minutes: Pantheon

The inspiration for countless cupolas all over the world. An architectural masterpiece that survives virtually intact after two millennia, and a space made magical by the light that floods through the spectacular “oculus” at the center of the dome.

15 minutes: Fontana di Trevi

“The” fountain of Rome, a unique masterpiece of sculpture and the most famous backdrop in the history of photo ops. You can’t leave Rome without tossing a coin into the water – the legend says you may never return to the Eternal City if you don’t!

15 minutes: Piazza Navona

One of the world’s most beautiful squares, which owes its distinctive elongated shape to the Stadium of Domitian that once stood on this spot. The stunning fountains on the square are some of Rome’s most iconic sights.

30 minutes: Piazza di Spagna

Where Rome is at its “Rome-iest”. Climbing the legendary Spanish Steps to admire Via Condotti and the Trident from above is an experience like no other.

The very heart of Christendom and an inspiring spiritual place for people of all religious persuasions, thanks to the architectural and artistic genius of Bramante, Michelangelo and Bernini.

25 minutes: Via Condotti and the Trident

The trendiest neighborhood in Rome, amidst some of the world’s best urban scenery. The major designer labels of Italian and international renown have their flagship stores here in the Baroque center, where you become a part of the art just strolling down the street.

25 minutes: Colle del Gianicolo

The belvedere on Janiculum Hill, one of the highest of Rome’s seven hills, is the ideal spot to experience the entirety of Rome’s Grande Bellezza. Don’t miss the cannon that strikes the noon hour every day, as it has done for centuries.
